Stories, thoughts and reflections on the Bible from the WSFC Staff.

Are you a meticulous calendar organizer? How about sticky notes? Do you notoriously leave them around everywhere like me?  I wish I could say I don’t rely on both calendars & sticky notes nearly as much as I do but I just can’t! Now It’s not because I’m overly organized or something awesome like that but actually quite the opposite. I tend to forget things and these are a couple of the tools that help jog my memory. I’ve learned over the years that I need these visual reminders to help my brain stay organized and it’s become something I’ve Chosen to do to better myself as well as ensure things get done.

Even though my surface level analogy is quite small in comparison to where I’m asking you to go, I’m going to do it anyways. I want you to focus on the word Chosen. What does the word mean to you today? What emotions does it evoke in your spirit?

One of my favorite definitions of the word Chosen is: “One who is the object of choice or of divine favor : an elect person.” Divine favor…it seems prestigious! So special! Top pick! I don’t know about you but I like being made to feel special or chosen above the rest.

The Heavenly Father has chosen you and we all are reminded of it in the following scripture:

“For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has Chosenyou out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession.” Deuteronomy 7

Personally, I sometimes find myself forgetting God is actively seeking, pursuing and choosing me. Whether it be the demands of life or the constant choice to choose Him, I’ve tried to make it a regular effort to remind myself (Yes with a Sticky Note) that I am Chosen! He is daily, minute by minute choosing to claim me as His child. There is something so comforting about knowing that someone has Chosen you!

God is Choosing YOU today. He will continue to do so tomorrow as well. Take comfort is being the Lord’s #1 overall pick. You are His treasured possession. He has Chosen you as His object of choice!
