Stories, thoughts and reflections on the Bible from the WSFC Staff.
I’ve had a series of thoughts on my mind for a few days now and I can seem to shake them.
I have a feeling that this may likely blossom into a sermon or two in the coming weeks or months, but I’m not sure yet, so I’m just gonna put it out there, in the hopes that it encourages someone, like it has encouraged me.
Here’s my musings:
I’ve been wrestling with this question a lot lately: Where are we going?
The answer I’ve felt in my spirit is this: I just don’t know.
By the way, let me interject something here: not knowing where we are going is never a good feeling for a leader. But it’s the honest truth. There is so much uncertainty all around us. And not only is there uncertainty, but there is uncertainty as to when the uncertainty will subside.
Of this I am certain.
But here’s what I sensed the Lord whisper to my heart – and hopefully to yours as well…
“OK, so you don’t know where you’re going. Neither does anyone else. You’re in good company. But know this: I, the Lord am with you. And that’s all you need to know right now.”
Breath that in. Sit with that for a moment.
I could take you to any number of Scriptures that affirm this word of the Lord to me. But, like I said earlier, I think this is brewing into a sermon or two, and I don’t want to steal my own thunder. But for now: spend some time with Exodus 33 regarding Moses and the Glory of the Lord.
God is with us, loved ones. His glory is all around us, and IN us by the power of the Holy Spirit. This we can be certain of.
And everything else, well, honestly friends, who knows?!?!?!
Grace & Peace,
