Praise Him

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God and the peace of God, which passes all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”  Philippians 4:6,7

In my life as a believer in Jesus, the one thing that has opened the way of blessing and victory in all kinds of circumstances and experiences is prayer and praise given directly to Him.  To be sure, it is Jesus who gives blessings and answers prayer; but it is only when I turn directly to Him, calling persistently upon His Name, that I find access to His power and peace.  The answers and the changes needed, even healings and deliverance in the lives of people for whom Sandy and I have prayed, come from our Lord when we pray boldly and thank Him in advance of His answers.

Perseverance in praise and worship opens access for you to truly experience His wonderful working in your life.  Last weekend, Gail McWilliams gave us an unforgettable example of the effects of a thankful heart in a truly dark trial.  Gail became blind as a young mother, choosing to keep her second pregnancy, though the pressures of carrying the child caused bleeding in her eyes, leading to blindness.  And yet, she stood in our assembly last weekend urging all of us to rely upon God’s Word and promises, like an immovable mountain, even though the trials in our lives tempt us to live in the fog and clouds of worry and despair.  A great testimony!!!  How can Gail be so joyful, though blind?  But she gave us a better question:  How can you have full sight but not be joyful?

In the last two weeks, as a family of faith in Jesus, we have been powerfully taught how the Kingdom of God grows and increases.  1.  By a full commitment to repentance from sin in our lives (Acts 2:38 and Acts 19:18-20).  2.  By living in joyful prayer, worship and praise through ALL your tests and trials.  (Psalm 56; Philippians 4:6-7)   Worship and praise give access to His blessings, His answers, His changes in your life.

In the coming weekend, May 30 and 31 we will have our normal schedule of gathering times.  Then, on Sunday evening, the church will gather again at 6:00 pm for a special time of worship and ministry in the Holy Spirit – our ONE service.  The Lord provides us the access we need, the power of Jesus’ Name.  And we must choose to enter-in.  Let’s gather as a joyful family, bring all our needs before Him, expecting His wonderful work to happen in us.  Do you believe that He will work wonders in you?

Blessings to you in His mercy and grace,

Pastor Rich Marshall
