WHAT TYPE OF CHURCH IS WEST SALEM FOURSQUARE CHURCH?
West Salem Foursquare Church is a part of a much bigger global family known as the Foursquare Church. Started in 1923 by Aimee Semple McPherson, in Los Angeles, Foursquare has grown to over 70,000 churches in 141 countries. Our name reflects the unchanging ministry of Jesus Christ and our mission to declare it worldwide. The four squares represent the four scriptural roles of Jesus as Savior, Baptizer with the Holy Spirit, Healer and Soon-Coming King. Find out more about what we believe by clicking here.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
There is no dress code for attending services at West Salem Foursquare. Some attenders dress casually and some dress up—it’s all good! You are free to come exactly as you are, so wear whatever you are most comfortable in.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I ARRIVE?
When you arrive at a West Salem Foursquare service, you will enter in to the main lobby. You’ll be greeted by a friendly smile from one of our greeters. There will be fresh coffee for you to enjoy on us, and you can check your kids into our Kids’ Ministry. There will be a 5-minute countdown to let you know when service will start, so you can be sure to get your seat before the service begins!
WHAT IS SERVICE LIKE?
Sometimes our services can look a little different, but typically we start our services with the West Salem Foursquare band leading the church in music. Song lyrics are projected onto the screen so you can sign along and/or engage with worship, however you feel comfortable. After the music portion of service is complete, we will share a few announcements about what’s happening at our church through live communicators. We’ll then continue our worship through an offering, which flows right into the weekend message. Most weekends, our Lead Pastor, John Fehlen will preach. Our services close with a brief time to respond to God in both worship and prayer.
WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?
We believe that kids should have a blast at church every single week. At WSFC Kids we make this a priority. The other things we make a priority is your children’s safety. Because of that we have a detailed check and process for our Kids program. The first time that you visit you want to leave yourself an extra 10 minutes to get signed in.
When you arrive, visit the Kids check-in counter where our team will register your children and give them a name badge with a parent pick-up tag. Please let us know if your child has any allergies or special requirements during the check-in time. If we need to contact you during service, your parent pick-up number will be displayed on the screens to the left and right of the stage in the Sanctuary. At the end of the service, simply show your parent pick-up tag at to a teacher in your child’s classroom and your child will be released to you.
Our Kids Ministry is offered at every service for kids ages infant through grade 5. Find out more about our Kids Ministry by clicking here.
We also have a Middle School Service (grade 6-8) offered during second service (9:30am) in the modular building across from the main building. Students will be led in a few songs, followed by an age appropriate teaching from one of our Alive Youth Church leaders. To learn more about Alive Youth Church click here.
