Stories, thoughts and reflections on the Bible from the WSFC Staff.
“Making it on my own” is a great sounding motto for a successful life, except for the fact that it doesn’t always work. Like most people, I too, have hit the wall a number of times in my life…..while “making it on my own.”
It’s at those moments you begin to realize just who is God and who isn’t. God tell us in Isaiah 2:22, “Stop trusting in man, who has but a breath in his nostrils.” Trusting in yourself alone, is nothing more than trusting in “man”.
Barriers have not always immediately melted away, since I gave my life to Jesus, but He has never left me. Each time, He has led me through, over, or around obstacles, without fail.
I have found that serving Him, rather than myself, is the way to live life. In James 2:22, God tells us that faith and actions, working together, lead to righteousness.
I know I am saved by what I believe and feel, not by what I do. But to me, serving God everyday, leads to fullness of life. I want to serve Him each day, as if it were my last, because someday, it will be.
