Psalm 40:11 says, ”Do not withhold your tender mercies from me, O Lord; Let Your loving kindness and Your truth continually preserve me.”

In the Book of Lamentations we read something very similar when it tells us that the Lord’s mercies are new every morning.  Gods mercies never grow old or dull!  His mercies are given freely and despite what we deserve (which frankly, is death).

In Psalm 40 King David declared, “Do not withhold Your tender mercies from me.”  David was very aware of his sin, shortcomings and failures. And so are you and I.  We desperately need what only God can provide. His mercy isn’t dependent upon US, but completely about HIM, and HIS working in our lives. God’s love and mercy is really given in spite of us and our failures.  Bottom line: He is for us and not against us!

The question for us today is this: “Will we give God room to work within our hearts?”  He desperately wants to be in our lives, but we must earnestly want Him.

Pray this with me;  “Lord, I choose to give You access and room in my life on a daily basis. Show me more of your mercy, love and truth. Forgive me for closing the doors of my heart to you due to poor choices and sin. I choose again today to receive more and more of YOU.”
