Stories, thoughts and reflections on the Bible from the WSFC Staff.
You may already know this about me, but if you don’t then I will clearly let you know: I love Apple products. I love my iPhone 5, iPad Mini, and MacBook Air. I’m anticipating the possibilities of an iWatch, iTV, and whatever else “i” Apple makes for “me.”
So, it was with great excitement that I watched this last Monday’s annual developers conference in which Apple announced new products, software, ideas and concepts in classic Apple form. I streamed the live event on the internet and followed along with the blogs and Twitter posts.
Yes, I’m a geek.
But…I’m not alone. There are many of us out there. There is a huge community of people that get amped about whatever Apple does and releases. Most of those same people will line up around the block to be some of the first to get their hands on those “essentials” for life and godliness (ok, I may have gone too far).
But, just for a moment, imagine Christians approaching the presence of God in a similar fashion…
It was David, in Psalm 122, that said this: “I was glad when they said to me: Let us go to the house of the Lord!” Notice the exclamation point. Notice the passion and expectancy. You can almost picture the smile on David’s face as he penned these words.
I. Was. Glad.
Are you glad to go to the house of the Lord? Are you full of expectation and anticipation?
Imagine if Christians approached the presence of God like this…
