Stories, thoughts and reflections on the Bible from the WSFC Staff.
Over the last few months we have been in a teaching series from the Book of Philippians at West Salem Foursquare Church. I’m excited for this series to bring us through Christmas as we “think about what is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, excellent and worthy of praise.” By the way, each of those words perfectly describe…wait for it…JESUS.
But before we get to Christmas, let’s slow down and be thankful. Thanksgiving is this week, and we don’t want to miss it! Too many of our box stores, coffee shops and commercials zoom right by it, in order to get to the real money maker: Christmas! But I want to PAUSE and say THANK YOU!
The Apostle Paul in Philippians 1:3 says “I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. It is right for me to feel this way about you all, because I hold you in my heart, for you are all partakers with me of grace….”
• I thank God for you with prayers of joy!
• I thank God for your partnership in the Gospel!
• I thank God for the process of growth that we are all in (and will come to completion when we see JESUS face to face).
• I thank God for the grace that we partake in together!
In a nutshell, I am thankful to GOD for you and thankful to YOU for how much of God I see in you.
