HELLO FRIENDS: 11.20.14 – Psalm 127

Hello Friends,

A few days ago I read Psalm 127 as a part of our PAUSE Bible Reading Plan. If you want to jump into this plan, please visit Online Devotions.

Psalm 127:1,2
Unless the Lord builds the house,
the builders labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the guards stand watch in vain.
In vain you rise early
and stay up late,
toiling for food to eat—
for he grants sleep to those he loves.

Friends, basically, if God isn’t “in it” then it isn’t gonna work. It will be reduced down to our own human efforts, which always seem to run out. Our own efforts often leave us with anxiety and fruitless toil.

I want to recommend, according to this passage, that we do it another way:

1.  Let God build the house.
2.  Let God watch over the city.
3.  Let God give you rest.

Join me in this season of really trusting God with our lives. He’s strong and able. He will not let us down.

Blessings,

John
