Stories, thoughts and reflections on the Bible from the WSFC Staff.

Hello Friends,

This last weekend at West Salem Foursquare I taught about a connection between our WORK and our WORSHIP. I believe they go hand in hand, and intersect in the concept of SERVING. More than 250 times in the Old Testament the word “worship” is translated as “serve” and is in conjunction with the idea of humbly prostrating oneself low before the Lord.In other words: when we worship we are serving the Lord AND when we serve the Lord we are worshiping!

Peas AND Carrots.

Peanut Butter AND Jelly.

Work AND Worship.

This upcoming weekend we will be reinforcing that connection in a few strategic ways. Please make every effort to join us for the following events that will highlight the vision and value to serve the Lord and people that He loves so much.

1.  West Salem High School Beautification. This Saturday, September 20 from 9 am – Noon. Bring tools, gloves, and willing hearts to serve. We want to be a blessing to our community in positive and tangible ways such as this. Lunch is on us. Pulling weeds is on you!  🙂

2.  ONE. This Sunday night from 6-8 pm we’re having our 2nd All Church Worship Nights. Come an hour early at 5 pm for a free BBQ in the courtyard. Join the ALIVE Youth Church Worship Band and special guest speaker Keith Jenkins (pastor and former chaplain for the Oregon Ducks) as we open our hearts to the Spirit of the Lord. Let’s ask for and anticipate God’s presence to be actively at work. I am personally praying for the Holy Spirit to do significant things in and through us at our ONE Service.

Hope to see you this weekend!
