Stories, thoughts and reflections on the Bible from the WSFC Staff.
I’m convinced that two of the biggest “enemies” we face in regard to prayer are distraction and discouragement.
We get distracted by the plethora of things (often wonderful things) that grasp for our attention.
We get discouraged when we fail to clearly see the handiwork of the Lord in response to our intercession.
To this I want to apply the words of the Apostle Paul to our lives: “Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.” Colossians 4:2
Paul, from prison, writes these focused words of challenge and encouragement to the church of Colossae, and if anyone had the right to speak this way, it was Paul.
Perhaps you’re in a “prison-like” place in your life right now. Hear me: Keep praying. Stay steadfast. Be watchful. Remain thankful.
In other words: don’t give up.
