Stories, thoughts and reflections on the Bible from the WSFC Staff.

Hello Friends,

A few weeks ago I was reading Psalm 8 as a part of our PAUSE Bible Reading Plan.  You can find this plan at  I challenge you to dive into this reading plan and grow in your love for the Scripture.

The opening verse to this great Psalm says: “O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens.”

Aside from this basically being the lyrics to a stellar 1982 Michael W. Smith/Sandi Patty song, it’s the heart cry of King David, AND a template for our praise and petition.

Who:  O Lord, our Lord.

What: The majesty of God’s name.

Where:  Everywhere. In ALL the earth!

When: Other Psalms give us the beautiful phrase and timeframe “from generation to generation.”

Why: Because God has set his glory everywhere, including upon US!

This week I encourage you to make this verse a point of meditation.

Recognize God in it. Reflect upon God with it. In doing so, I believe God will continue to set his glory upon you.
