Stories, thoughts and reflections on the Bible from the WSFC Staff.
Today I’m wrapping up a long series of emails on the phrase “UNTO YOU IS BORN.”
Unto you is born…hope.
Unto you is born…clarity.
Unto you is born…salvation.
And now…Unto You Is Born…CHANGE.
The startling reality of change is ever present in the birth of Emmanuel.
God is now with us.
No longer is He a distant entity or a cosmic caretaker. His fullness took on fragility and the hands of time have never been the same since. The entrance of the King of king and the Lord of lords in the form of an infant brought with it a shift of perception; a rotating of the axis of mankind.
The Virgin Mary understood this. Her no-longer-barren cousin Elizabeth sensed this. Those that gathered to the scene did so with the sureness of sovereignty. The inner knowledge that something of powerful value had approached our realm of comfort and invaded our space of sameness.
For unto us this man Jesus came to change our lives…and redeem our future.
