Home Groups

Our Home Groups are the perfect place to grow deeper in your walk with the Lord, through reading the Bible and doing life together.

Cory + Sam Bergman

cory_sam
The Bergmans are a family of 5 who live in West Salem and have been attending WSFC for almost 11 years. They have a daughter Brooklyn, son Hudson and son Levi. On Sundays you will find them serving at the children's check in counter or Cory will be on the worship team drumming.
Professionally, Cory is a graphic designer for Snapfish and Sam is a part time activity/recreation coordinator for Capital Manor retirement community.
They have been involved in a few different small groups over the past 10 years, but have never hosted, and are delighted to do so! They are excited to dive in to this new series to see what God has in store for them and this group!

Craig + Donna Shumate

shumate
Craig and Donna are passionate about knowing God and making him known.  Together as disciples of Jesus, they have found purpose in knowing and obeying Jesus’ teachings. With 33 years (and counting) of serving each other and the Salem community their desire to be used by God as his witness through sharing the gospel “Here, There, and Everywhere” not only remains but has increased.
As parents to a son and daughter who have grown and started their own families, Craig and Donna have moved into a new season of life as grandparents to three grandchildren (and counting?). Craig continues his career in commercial construction & property development while Donna works part-time for the school district and care provider to their grandchildren. International missions have been a big part of their lives for the last ten years (and counting). In 2011 they began annual mission trips while partnering with a faith-based nonprofit organization that shares the love of Christ through building sustainable communities in the Republic of Haiti.
Their home group goal is helping a big church feel like a small church. This group is only one of many ministries at WSFC that provide pastoral care for the church. Craig & Donna’s vision is a group that laughs together, prays together, studies the Bible together, eats together, and serves their community. By providing a chance for everyone to be discipled, they have faith that God will use this ministry as an instrument for creating discipleship opportunities inside and outside the group.
