Stories, thoughts and reflections on the Bible from the WSFC Staff.

It won’t be long until we welcome Pastors John and Denise home to our West Salem Foursquare family.  I am sure that you are looking forward with joy and thanks.

As the summer season is now passing by and September is in sight, I want to encourage and commend everyone for your warmth and faithfulness.  Faithfulness is one of the highest virtues that Jesus leads into as Christians.  It grows hand-in-hand with courage, patience, love, and perseverance.  Faithfulness is like the trunk of a tree, and that tree produces all the fruit of the Spirit in your life.  When your life produces the fruit of the Spirit then others around you – especially your church family – are nourished by being close to you and enjoying the harvest of your faithfulness.

This summer we are experiencing two unique things at WSFC.  1. The Pastors’ Sabbatical season.  2.  The schedule change placing our three weekend services all on Sunday morning. While summer attendance and giving is usually “relaxed” during vacation season, so far this summer, giving has been very healthy.  I encourage you to continue that faithfulness right through August and September.  There is a need to increase giving, as I wrote to you in June.  Recently, a very faithful couple asked me to be specific about how much increase is needed.  Here is a suggestion that will potentially make a difference:  Consider adding 20% to your regular offering.  If you regularly give $200, consider faithfully increasing your gift to $240.  If you regularly give $100, consider faithfully increasing your gift to $120.  Begin now if you can, while it is still the summer season.  If generous giving is not yet part of your experience at West Salem Foursquare Church, then please accept my invitation to prayerfully follow the Lord’s leading.  The harvest season is underway.  A bountiful harvest is available when you plant seed generously.

Sandy and I are so very thankful for you.  It is a blessing every day to serve with you.  Thank you for growing in faithfulness in this season.  You enjoy the harvest in the seasons ahead.

The Lord bless you and keep you.  He is here with you.
