Stories, thoughts and reflections on the Bible from the WSFC Staff.
I grew up in a pretty liturgical religious
Stand. Sit. Knell. Rinse. Repeat.
I knew what to say, and when to say it. Honestly, there is much about my religious upbringing that I am so grateful for, and many wonderful aspects that remain in my heart to this day. One of the common liturgies I committed to memory was this:
“Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again.”
I remember it to this day, not just because of its repetition, but because of its truth.
Jesus died. Jesus rose from the dead. And friends, Jesus WILL return again. More than ever, in these current crazy days, we need to be reminded of these fundamental truths. They inspire hope. They build faith. They breath life.
In 1 Thessalonians 4, the Apostle Paul said “we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that…the Lord himself will come down from heaven…” (vs. 13,16). He then says in vs. 18 to “therefore encourage one another with these words.”
Let me encourage YOU today with these words:
Christ has died (we will commemorate it on Good Friday).
Christ is risen (we will celebrate it this Easter Sunday).
Christ will come again (let’s be found ready)!
Grace & Peace to you!
P.S. Let me personally (albeit digitally) invite you to join me for our Good Friday service which will premiere TODAY – Friday, April 10 – at Noon on YouTube. After the premiere you can watch it . Then, on Resurrection Sunday we will premiere FIVE SERVICES at 9am, 11am, 1pm, 3pm and 5pm on YouTube. These unique premieres allow our Online Campus Pastors to engage with you in a LIVE chat!
“See” you then!
