It’s an invitation to join me in CALLING ON THE NAME OF THE LORD.
Acts 2:21 reminds us that “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” I really believe that this not only refers to our initial “salvation” from death unto life in Christ (ie: born again, saved, etc), but, that it also is an ongoing work of “being saved” by the transforming work of God, through the power of the Holy Spirit.
In other words, “saved” happens once AND in an ongoing fashion.
The invitation to you then is to call on the name of the Lord. This is so much grander than merely the discipline of prayer (albeit an important part), but instead, a PURSUIT of the heart and will of God. Will you join with me in this pursuit?
Over the next 40 days will you set aside time each day to call on the name of the Lord? Pursue his heart. Discover his will. Seek his face. Love him deeper.
On Sunday, May 15 we will culminate our 40 day pursuit with our ONE Worship Gathering at 6 pm. Sovereignly and strategically, May 15 is the commemoration of the Day of Pentecost on the liturgical calendar. This is the day for celebrating the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the disciples in the Jerusalem Upper Room. One cannot underestimate the impact that this event has had upon Jesus’ Church, and as a result, upon our personal lives. For the next 40 days I invite YOU to invite the HOLY SPIRIT into your life, and to pursue Jesus in new and fresh ways.
Will you do that? I am excited about the season we are entering into, and strongly believe God is up to something deep and significant.
