Stories, thoughts and reflections on the Bible from the WSFC Staff.

“…that it may be ready as generosity and not as a grudging obligation.  He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully – each one as he purposes in his heart… for God loves a cheerful giver and is able to make all grace abound toward you.”
2 Corinthians 9:5-8

Welcome to spring.

I’m the shepherd of operations, the nuts-and-bolts at West Salem Foursquare Church; everything from buildings to budgets to, yes, occasional barf.  It’s a very, very interesting job.  One of the great things I can assure you is that Pastor John and the staff have been sticking to the budget that was laid out for them at the beginning of 2016.  Some big bills, but no over-spending.  And yet, while we have gone carefully through the weeks of winter and early spring on the business side, this has also been a wonderful season of spiritual refreshing, increasing prayer, openness, and growth in the Lord Jesus.  Have you participated in these things?   Dozens of new ones saved, baptized and discipled.  Groups and classes and friendships have been growing.  Participation is fresh and rising.  The joy and anticipation of our church family have increased.

But now, our giving needs to rise, too.  You can help.  This is a need to which we can all rise together, each as he or she is willing, from a joyful, generous heart.  No one person carries the whole load, but each one is needed to push forward together successfully.

God’s Word declares that your life will be blessed, guided and lifted up as you increase your generous giving, not just one time, but as a lifestyle of faith.  Whether you are working hard to make ends meet, or you are having a very successful year in business, as your brother and friend in Christ, I strongly encourage you to simply increase your personal financial giving to your church home, West Salem Foursquare.  A little or a lot, and His grace will abound toward you.

I hope that you are willing and joyful.   I want you to know that there is a definite need.

Believing in Jesus.  Thankful to worship and follow Him with you,

Rich Marshall
Executive Pastor
