Small Groups and Community

Hello Friends,

Today Seth Baker (our small groups pastor) and I hunkered down at our local watering hole (Starbucks) with our Bibles and PAUSE Bible Reading Plan. We read Psalm 107 and 2 Timothy 3 together.

I love reading my Bible alone, but I REALLY love reading my Bible with others. It is great to hear the insights of others, and banter about the things of the Lord in the context of community.

By the way:  we were designed for COMMUNITY.

Proverbs 27:17 reminds us that as iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

We need each other. Life is not meant to be lived alone. That’s why we so strongly encourage our congregation to move out of rows and get into circles. We believe BIG things happen in small groups. At last count, we have over 45 groups available at West Salem Foursquare (with more being added as we speak). A bunch of them meet on our church campus on Tuesday nights under the title of “RE:Group.”  To find out more visit:  http://wsfc.org/ministries/regroup/.  As well, all over the city are a variety of home-based fellowships centered around our weekend teaching series “Aliens and Strangers.” To discover them visit:  http://wsfc.org/ministries/small-groups/.

I love being in community with YOU!
