City Vibe
To Save A Life!
Rene, James, Robert and Cindy lived much of their adult lives homeless. They’ve called several homeless camps their “home”. Through the years they have had numerous groups come to them and provide clothing, meals and other items. Although this was kind and helpful, then those people would leave.
Their situations didn’t turn around until City Vibe joined three other churches “to save a life”, one person at a time. How did this happen? Through relationships.
City Vibe doesn’t simply provide a meal and leave. We sit down and eat with our homeless friends. We listen and learn about them, ultimately becoming friends. It’s only once a relationship is formed that we can offer sincere help that has lasting impact. All we do is “Love them until they ask why!” It’s that simple.
Rene, James, Robert and Cindy gave their lives to Christ at a homeless camp and were baptized at WSFC. They didn’t make those decisions because of the meals or clothing. They did it because they became friends with people who love God and love others.
City Vibe is making a difference spiritually and personally. Many of our friends at Cascade Gateway Park have transitioned into homes and gained employment. Many have overcome addiction and other challenges. Some have reunited with their families. All feel loved just as they are. Some may still be homeless, but they are not alone. Now they call us friends!
To save a life, one person at a time; that is City Vibe!
Stepping out in Faith at the Park: How amazing it is to see lives transformed, to see smiles where once there were only tears, to be part of restoring respect and self-esteem.
Do you want to be part of a ministry that provides love, compassion and grace to those God has placed at our feet. This is a ministry where cooks can bless people, musicians can provide worship, and friends can love those who most people turn away from as we listen to their life stories. We can’t give people dignity that must come from within, but we can give them respect. Contact us to learn how you can be part of this outreach, you will be amazed.
