Prayer and Care

At WSFC we recognize that it is through the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives that our minds are renewed and our lives can be transformed. To that end we offer several group and individual care opportunities.

Life Recovery Group (Monday @ 7 pm)

We study the 12 Steps and 12 Principles to break the shackles of self and follow our Lord Jesus Christ. All are welcome. For additional information contact Don Bryson 971-240-2804 or bryson8770@comcast.net.

Women Restored (Mondays @ 7pm)

This is a Christ-centered support group that strives to create a safe and nurturing environment where women can face and learn to effectively deal with the pain in their lives. Preregistration is required, so please contact Ann Robins at 503-371-5983 or arobins57@msn.com.

Divorce Care (Sundays @ 6 pm)

A friendly, caring group designed to walk alongside those who are going through separation or divorce. The video series and workbook serve as an invaluable resource through this difficult life transition. For additional information contact Dwayne Graves at 503-559-4583 or dwayne.graves@gmail.com.

Mourning Light (Mondays @ 7pm)

A 6-week Grief Recovery Group offered in the winter and spring to give practical help and support in working through issues of loss. For more information contact or Clara Lee Esther 503-851-6323

For Men Only – Pure Desire (Mondays @7pm)

This group is to help men who are struggling walking consistently with sexual purity. This group is led by men “who have been there and understand”. This is a confidential and safe group. Prayer Ministry

We have a team of people dedicated to praying for you. You can submit your prayer requests on line, using the prayer cards in the back of the chairs, calling the church or Sue Tyvoll and stopping by the Prayer Booth during weekend services. Men’s Intercessory Prayer Team (Mondays @ 6:30 am)

This group meets to intercede in prayer on behalf of men. For more information contact Rod Chandler 503-585-7339.

Healing Prayer Ministry

It is a process which can be defined as intentional focused prayer leading to an authentic encounter with the Holy Spirit resulting in mind renewal and a subsequently transformed life. For more information please contact Nelda Myers 503-910-3735.

Senior’s Ministry

This group will be starting in January 2010. The goal is to provide fellowship and Bible study once a month for seniors. For more information please contact Walt Edmonds 503-362-6115.

Visitation

This team will visit people who are ill both in the hospital or at home. Please notify the church if you need or would like a visit. For more information please contact Sharon Stuart 503-585-2166 (home) or 503-934-4400 (work).

Covenant Couples

Our purpose is to help married couples GROW in Christ to become all God designed them to be through: Teaching, Connecting and Serving others. For more information please contact Mark or Linda Burrows 503-58502815.

Beauty to Ashes

This is a community outreach of pastoral care. Currently, this team ministers at the Symka Place on the 4th Wednesday of every month. An Abuse and Rescue ministry is in place. For more information please contact Yvonne Cook at 503-763-2488.

Individual, Marriage and Family, and Group Counseling

Clinical counseling and therapy services are available to church and community members right here at WSFC. Dr. Michelle J. Cox, Licensed Professional Counselor and Assistant Professor of Counseling at George Fox University, along with Annette Korkeakoski-Sears, MA MFT, and Anne Robins, MA Coun, offer sliding fee scales to help with affordability. These Christian clinicians work with a variety of issues including addiction, sexual trauma and dysfunction, anxiety, depression, communication, self-esteem/self-worth, eating disorders, PTSD, parenting issues, and many other concerns.
