Children
Kidventure is the name of our children’s ministry here at WSFC. In Kidventure, we strive to make your kid’s church experience both exciting and educational. In order to do that we use skilled volunteers, technology, fun activities, and excellent environments where kids will discover, explore, and engage in the adventure of faith in Christ. We believe this makes Kidventure a place your child will be begging you to bring them to each week!
Our Programs.
We divide our ministry into three separate environments so that we can engage each child at the appropriate level.
- Discovery Dock is a weekend Pre-school environment for children ages six weeks through four years. Here each child will begin to discover that God made them, God loves them, and Jesus wants to be their friend forever.
- Explorer’s Island is a weekend environment for Lower Elementary-aged kids (K – 3rd grade) that uses worship, live drama, and small group times with adult leaders as a framework for kids to begin to explore what it means to be a follower of Christ. We utilize creativity as well as relationship development (small group leaders serve every week) to highlight the excitement and adventure that comes with being a Christian.
- The Crow’s Nest is a weekend Upper Elementary-age environment for kids in 4th and 5th grade. The Crows Nest combines with the lower elementary age group for large group worship and drama. Before and after the large group time, 4th and 5th graders hang out with their own adult leaders and seek to find ways to engage their faith in all areas of their life: school, home, sports, friends, interests, etc.
What to Expect.
In Kidventure, we strive to make your family’s time with us a great experience from start to finish. You’ll begin by checking your child in to our computerized database. Creating a new account is easy, and once entered, check-in is a snap. Individual name tags with a security number will be printed for your kids along with a claim tag that you will present to a teacher during check-out . After check in, you will take your child to the appropriate classroom where we will sign your child in. You and your child will be greeted at their classroom by one of our volunteers. All volunteers are background checked and trained to guarantee the best and safest experience possible. You will pick up your child in this same location following the worship service.
It’s important for you to know that, if for any reason, we need to get a hold of you during the worship experience, we will do so through a parent alert. Your child’s randomized security number will be displayed in the auditorium, letting you know that we need you for something.
